What is a bidirectional EV charger?

What is the difference between V2H, V2G and V2X?
V2H — Vehicle-to-Home
V2H, or Vehicle-to-Home, uses energy stored in a compatible electric vehicle to help power the home.
Depending on the system design, this energy can be used to:

V2G — Vehicle-to-Grid

Actual V2G availability depends on the vehicle, its software, the energy contract and the applicable regulatory framework.
V2X — Vehicle-to-Everything
V2X is the general term covering the various bidirectional uses of an electric vehicle, including V2H for the home, V2G for the grid and other current or future energy applications.

Why combine a V2H charger with solar panels?
A photovoltaic system produces most of its electricity during the day. When the home does not immediately use all this energy, the surplus can be sent to a residential battery or used to charge the electric vehicle.
The vehicle can therefore be charged with a greater share of locally generated solar energy. If it supports V2H, its battery may later return energy to the home when the solar panels are no longer producing.
This creates a smarter energy cycle:

The solar panels generate electricity.

The home uses the energy it needs.

Surplus production charges the SigenStor battery or the electric vehicle.

Do you need a home battery with the SIGENERGY EVDC?
The EVDC module must be integrated into a SIGENERGY system that includes the Sigen Energy Controller.
A residential battery is not necessarily required solely to operate the charger. However, it provides valuable continuity whenever the vehicle is away from home or disconnected.
Combining the EVDC with a SigenStor battery makes it possible to:

Can V2H power the home during a power cut?
